my heart just skipped a beat

I just realized the sole reason I stopped messing with puzzles is because we had a cat who 1) couldn’t stay off the dining room table, and 2) chewed things like she were a dog in a previous life.

I learned this the hard way when it was just the two of us and I came home from work to find a 10,000 piece puzzle I had spent hours working on (but nowhere near finished), utterly destroyed. Many pieces had been chewed to bits and many others never recovered (who knows where those went!). I was upset. Horrified. All I could do was abandon it altogether and come to terms with the fact that I couldn’t have a cat and work on the kinds of puzzles that I wanted. That was over 10 years ago.

I have enjoyed puzzles since I was a kid and not only were they an escape but there was always a great satisfaction when the pieces were placed correctly & the best, when it was finally complete! The more difficult, the more pieces, the better!

I just realized for the first time in 12+ years that I can try again. Am I messed up for being excited about this?

I loved her, I really did. But she was a real jerk sometimes.
